HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior
Abdullahi Abdi (Seattle, Wash./James Garfield) scored twice in the game's final six minutes to guide the Lycoming College men's soccer team past Juniata College, 2-0, in non-conference action at Gibbel Stadium on Wednesday night, Sept. 14.

Abdu scored his first goal on a penalty kick awarded with 5:57 left in the second half after the Warriors (2-2-2 overall) were held scoreless on their first 20 shots of the game. It didn't take long for Abdi to strike again, as he got an assist from junior
Duc Momo (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) and fired in a shot from inside the box, with 4:20 left.

Abdi became the 16
th player in program history to post 20 goals in a career with his second goal, as he joined fellow junior
Jordan Logan (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) in the 20-goal club after Logan reached the mark at Haverford on Sunday.

The two-goal flurry was more than enough for the Warriors, which scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation for the second game in a row, as Juniata (1-5 overall) took just three shots.

Josh Gildea (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) stopped two shots as he earned his 11
th career shutout. Logan Tackett stopped two shots in the opening 22 minutes for Juniata before Andrew Yeich finished the game, making three saves.

The Warriors controlled the game, holding a 22-3 advantage in shots, 8-0 on corner kicks and also were whistled for five offside calls.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 17, when they host No. 19 Scranton at the Shangraw Athletic Complex at 3 p.m.
