Fricke takes fifth at MAC Women’s Golf Championship

HERSHEY, Pa. – Lycoming College sophomore Hailey Fricke (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) posted a 92 in the final round of the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship to finish in a tie for fifth at the par-71, 5,826-yard Hershey Country Club East Course on Monday, April 25.

With the fifth-place finish, Fricke earns First Team All-MAC honors, becoming the first Warrior women's golfer in school history to earn the honor.

Fricke finished with a two-day 183 (91-92), nine strokes behind the event's medalist, Lebanon Valley's Megan Kimmel. She posted a front nine 45 on Monday before finishing with a 47 on the back nine to finish two strokes ahead of Gabriela Estevez of Manhattanville to earn the fifth and final slot on the All-MAC first team.

Fricke notched four pars on the front nine and added one on the back nine during the round to finish out the 92.

She finished the season with a 94.0 stroke average in six rounds, playing four times with the men's team. Her average dropped eight strokes during her sophomore campaign after posting 102.0 strokes per round as a freshman, when she finished 14th at the MAC Championship.

Fricke is the second all-conference golfer of the season for Lycoming, as senior Zach Layser (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) finished eighth in the men's tournament on Sunday to earn Second Team All-MAC accolades.
