HERSHEY, Pa. – Lycoming College senior
Zach Layser (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) finished with a 36-hole 160 at the MAC Commonwealth Men's Golf Championships to finish in a tie for eighth at the two-day tournament at the par-71, 6,838-yard Hershey Country Club East Course on Sunday, April 24.

Layser, after shooting an opening-round 80 on Saturday, duplicated the feat on Sunday, posting a 38 on the front nine before shooting a 42 on the back nine. His two-day total of 160 helped him earn Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors is the best for the team since moving to the two-round format at the Hershey East Country Club in 2008.

Layser improved his score by nine strokes over his junior year, when he finished tied for 19
th with a 169. As a sophomore, he finished 26
th with a 178. He finishes his career seventh in program history with a 84.8 average in 16 career rounds.

He is the first Warrior to earn all-conference accolades since Ryan Nelson finished ninth in the MAC Freedom Championship in 2007, when it was a 54-hole championship.

The Warriors shot a 381 on the second day to finish the two-day tournament with a 760 to finish in ninth place.

Conor Chopey (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) finished with a 225 (124-101).
