HARRISBURG, Pa. – With its second-best round of the season, the Lycoming College golf team got in its final tune-up for this weekend's MAC Commonwealth Championships at the Messiah College Falcon Classic on Tuesday, April 19, at the par-72, 6,635-yard Blue Ridge Country Club.

Lycoming finished with a 361 in the round to finish 13
th in the 15-team field, 11 strokes ahead of MAC Commonwealth foe Widener University.

The team was led by senior
Zach Layser (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) posted a 10-over-par 82, notching two birdies in the round, to finish in a tie for 31
st in an 80-golfer field. Sophomore
Hailey Fricke (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) finished second on the team, posting her second-best round of the year, with a 91 that featured a birdie on the par-5, 560-yard No. 7.

Freshman
Alec Sabatino (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) shot a 92 and freshman
Douglas Urban (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) added a 96 to round out the team's scoring four. Senior
Jacob McClain (Cogan Station, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) finished fifth on the team with a  115.

The Warriors get back on the course for the MAC Commonwealth Championship, with the two-day, 36-hole tournament set to get underway on Saturday, April 23, at 8 a.m., at the Hershey Country Club East Course.
