HUMMELS WHARF, Pa. – Senior
Zach Layser (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) led the Lycoming College golf team on Friday afternoon, April 1, at the Susquehanna University Spring Invitational, finishing in 20
th place with a 90 at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.
The Warriors carded a 398 to finish in seventh place among seven teams, at the event. Moravian won the team title, carding a 315.
Layser overcome a rough start, as he carded a 10 on his first hole, but he shot an 80 on the remaining 17 holes to finish in a tie for 20
th.
Freshman
Alec Sabatino (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) was right behind Layser, caring a 91 to take 22
nd. Sophomore
Hailey Fricke (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) finished with a 105 to take third on the team. Playing their first collegiate rounds, freshmen
Nick Meek (Twinsburg, Ohio/Benedictine) and
Doug Urban (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) each finished with a 112.
The Warriors will get back on the course on Tuesday, April 5, when they will host Penn College in a dual meet at Williamsport Country Club. Tee-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
