Meghenn Jackson (Arnold, Md./Broadneck/Anne Arundel C.C.) and sophomore
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) appear to be just as formidable now that the Shangraw Athletic Complex is a lacrosse field, as the pair combined for 11 goals and nine assists in a 21-3 win over Hiram College in non-conference action at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Tuesday, March 8.
Lazarich scored a career-high six goals while also adding a career-high five assists for an 11-point day, which is tied for sixth-best in program history, just one point shy of the school record which has been set five times. Jackson, who became the 17
th player in school history to reach 100 career points during the game, added five goals and four assists.
Lycoming (3-0 overall) controlled the game from the opening whistle, scoring the first 16 goals, a run that lasted the first 35 minutes of the contest. Hiram (0-2 overall) scored two of the next three goals, but Lycoming responded with four more scores to push the lead to 21-2. Autumn Osgood scored the final goal of the contest for the Terriers with 1:36 remaining.
Freshman
Kelly McGinnis (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) added four goals and an assist and senior
Savannah Fox (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville) also notched three goals and an assist. Senior
Kelsey Harshman (Hamilton Square, N.J./Steinert) added a goal and an assist and junior
Leanne Shaw (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) notched two assists.
Lycoming controlled possession throughout, finishing with 17 of the 26 draw controls and holding a 16-9 advantage in ground balls. The Warriors also forced 15 Terrior turnovers while giving up only nine.
Junior goalkeeper
Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) (3-0) led the team with three ground balls and a caused turnover, as she earned the win by making four first-half saves without allowing a goal. Freshman
Megan Bozarth (El Cajon, Calif./Valhalla) played the second half, making one stop.
Sophomore
Jenna Hudson (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) led the team with five draw controls and two ground balls, while also scoring once. Jackson, Lazarich and McGinniss each also grabbed four draws.
Osgood led the Terriers with five draw controls and two goals. Alysse Gillentine and Melissa Schilling each grabbed two ground balls and added a caused turnover. Rachel Metcalf (0-2) made eight saves in net.
Through just 19 games at Lycoming, Jackson, the leading scorer in the MAC Commonwealth, has scored 84 career goals and added 21 assists for 105 career points. In two years at Anne Arundel Community College, the two-time All-American added 157 goals and 56 assists.
The Warriors get back in action on Thursday, March 10, when they host Susquehanna University at 1 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
