WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Bonus points, including five pins, helped the Lycoming College wrestling team to a pair of wins on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20, in Lamade Gym, defeating Washington & Jefferson, 39-5, and Elizabethtown, 31-18.
  The Warriors (6-1 overall) lost just six of 20 bouts during the varsity portion of the event, to secure the pair of wins and they were also awarded a 60-0 forfeit win over Penn College.
 
The Warriors jumped out to a large lead in the bout with Washington & Jefferson (2-2 overall), winning the first six matches to get a 30-point lead in the 39-5 win.
 
After freshman Garrett Lockwood (Groton, N.Y./Groton) won by forfeit at 125, freshman Jacob Chamberlin (Allenwood, Pa./Montgomery Area) pinned Michael Smith in 2:43 after taking an 8-0 lead at 133. Sophomore Joe Santomarco (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) followed with a 5-2 win over Daniel Pommerer at 141 and senior Seth Lansberry (Klingerstown, Pa./Line Mountain) posted a 16-1 technical fall in the second period against Samuel Florentino at 149. Freshman Hadyn Swartwood (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) followed by sticking Evan Brown in 59 seconds at 157 and senior Nolan Barger (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) clinched the win with a 12-0 major decision at 165.
 
The run ended only after junior Brandon Conrad (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) lost a tight match, 5-2, to third-ranked Sonnieboy Blanco at 174 pounds. Junior Bradley Miccio (Bloomsburg, Pa./Benton Area) followed with a 1-0 win over Martin Shulik at 184 and freshman Travis Ogden (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) finished off Lycoming's scoring with a pin of William Oberschelp in 4:08.
 
Lycoming fell behind after two pins in the first two bouts against Elizabethtown (1-3 overall), but came back six straight wins to secure its sixth dual meet win of the season.
 
Santomarco started the comeback with an 8-3 decision over Josh Paisley at 141 pounds before Lansberry put Daniel Smith on his back at 149. Swartwood followed with a pin of Christopher Kummerer in 4:00 and Barger also added a pin of Daniel Jerrens in 1:22 at 165. After a forfeit at 174 made it 27-12, Conrad clinched the win with a 12-0 major decision against Dayne Ross at 184 to make it 31-12, before a pair of decisions by Elizabethtown rounded out the scoring.
 
The Warriors get back on the mat on Saturday, Dec. 3, when they head to the RIT Invitational, which is set to begin at 9 a.m.
