Warriors fall to Lions

READING, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's soccer team took six shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net on Tuesday night, Oct. 4, and a late second-half goal lifted Albright College to a 1-0 MAC Commonwealth win at Shirk Stadium.

The Lions (8-4 overall, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) broke the scoreless tie in the 80th minute, as Crissy Terraces got an open look in the box off a pass from Emily Sousa. Lycoming was not able to get a shot off in the final 10 minutes to get an equalizer.

Junior Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) led the Warriors (6-5-2 overall, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) with three shots, including forcing Albright keeper Alexis Tunney to make two point-blank saves, one in the fourth minute and one in the 71st, where Tunney cut off an angle and made a sliding save.

Junior Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) finished with seven saves and Alexis Tunney finished with six stops in the shutout for Albright.

The Warriors get back on the field with a 12 p.m. game against MAC Commonwealth foe Alvernia on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
