FREDERICK, Md. – Senior
Josh Gildea (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) stopped 11 shots in his 14
th career shutout to help the Lycoming College men's soccer team post a 0-0 MAC Commonwealth draw with Hood College on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22 at Thomas Athletic Field.

Both teams fired a lot of shots and Lycoming (7-6-4 overall, 2-3-2 MAC Commonwealth) got into corner kick situations eight times, but neither team could find the back of the net.

Hood (10-4-1 overall, 3-2-1 MAC Commonwealth) took 20 shots in the game, but Lycoming's defense held the conference's leading scorer, Drew Demich, to just one shot.

Gildea made six saves to preserve the shutout in the second period and added one in each overtime, as well, while Hood's Danny Castillo stopped all four of his shots in the second period.

The draw moved the Warriors into sixth place in the MAC Commonwealth with one game remaining in their conference season against seventh-place Stevenson on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Warriors will need to move into the top five to earn a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament, with Hood, Arcadia and Alvernia all tied for third with 10 points and two games remaining in their conference seasons.

The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday, Oct. 25, when they head to 18
th-ranked Oneonta State for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference game.
