Warriors fall to Pride

CHESTER, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's soccer team fell victim to three first-half goals, as Widener University posted a 3-0 MAC Commonwealth win on Saturday evening, Oct. 15, at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.

Karli Luker and Shea Scannell each scored for the Pride (3-8-2 overall, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) in the first 13 minutes and Eva Reyes added a third score in the 39th minute.

The Warriors (6-8-2 overall, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth) took five shots in the game, three from senior Nour Hasan (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin), as Widener's Jenna Keating stopped four shots to earn the shutout.

Junior goalkeeper Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) finished with 16 saves in net for Lycoming, her second-most saves of the season. She now has 120 stops this year, which is 10th in the school's single-season record book.

The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday, Oct. 18, when they host Lebanon Valley in another MAC Commonwealth game at 3:30 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
