Warriors draw with Knights

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Two goals in the final five minutes of regulation, one by each squad, helped the Lycoming College men's soccer team and Arcadia University leave a rain-soaked Shangraw Athletic Complex with a 1-1 draw in both teams' MAC Commonwealth opener on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The Warriors (5-3-2 overall, 0-0-1 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board first, with junior Nathan Harding (Secretary, Md./North Dorcester) serving a ball in that junior Jordan Logan (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) got to and delivered over to junior Duc Momo (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase), who leapt and delivered a shot into the right corner from inside the box in the 86th minute.

The Knights (6-2-2 overall, 0-0-1 MAC Commonwealth) responded in the 88th minute, though, with Tyler Ihle getting an open look inside the box after a free kick scramble.

Neither team could gain a foothold on a rainy field in the overtime, although Lycoming took three of its 13 shots in the final 20 minutes and Arcadia took two of its four.

Arcadia keeper Chris Watson stopped seven shots in the tie, while senior Josh Gildea (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) drew the tie for the Warriors.

The Warriors get back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 5, when they head to Albright for another important MAC Commonwealth game at 4 p.m.
