WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After an unexpected interuption in the season due to Winter Storm Jonas, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will get back on the court for the first time in a week on Wednesday, Jan. 27, when they head to Alvernia for a first-place battle in MAC Commonwealth play.

The Warriors (14-3 overall, 6-2 MAC Commonwealth) are riding a winning streak of five games, but have been idle since a 71-54 win over Penn State Altoona on Wednesday, Jan. 20. Sophomore Alex Newbold led the team in the win, posting his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Alvernia (10-8 overall, 6-3 MAC Commonwealth) has won five of its last six games, including a 78-74 win over Widener on Friday, Jan. 22. Junior Marquis Marshall led the team with 27 points.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors have won five straight games for the sixth time in head coach Guy Rancourt's eight years.

• The Warriors are the only team in the league with three players in the top 10 in rebounding - junior Nykolas King (eighth, 6.5), sophomore Chris Wallace (ninth, 6.2) and sophomore Alex Newbold (10th, 6.0).

• Newbold has a steal in all 17 games this year and in 42 of 43 games in his career. He is one steal shy of becoming the 21st player in school history to record 90 swipes in a career.

• Senior Eric Ishman needs to hit four more 3-pointers to become the 29th player in school history to hit 50 in a career.

• All five Warrior starters are averaging in double figures in conference games.

• Freshman T.J. Duckett has at least 15 points in seven of his last nine games. He has hit 28 3-pointers (3.1 per game) during that span.
