CRESSON, Pa. – A pair of second-half goals helped lift the Lycoming College men's soccer team to its seventh straight win, as it defeated Mount Aloysius, 2-0, in non-conference action on Monday afternoon, Sept. 21.

The seven-game winning streak is the longest for the program since the 2003 squad won a school record nine in a row.

After both teams combined for just seven shots in the first half, the Warriors (7-1 overall) began to get their offense tuned up right after the second half began and it paid off, as sophomore
Abdullahi Abdi (Seattle, Wash./James Garfield) fired in his fourth goal of the season just 47 seconds into the half.

Lycoming continued to pressure, as it took eight shots in the half, and sophomore
Jose Cooper (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) drilled his third goal of the year in the 68
th minute to put the game out of reach.

The Mounties (2-4-1 overall) fired six shots in the game and were awarded two corners, forcing freshman
Chris Solecki (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) (2-0) to make two saves to earn his second shutout in as many starts.

Justin Haan (2-4-1) stopped five shots for Mount Aloysius, as Lycoming took 12 shots.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 26, when they head to perennial national power Rochester for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
