WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A heavy-hitting Lycoming College volleyball team totaled 118 kills on Saturday, Sept. 12, as it posted a pair of 3-1 wins over Allegheny College and Pitt-Bradford to cap the 2015 Lycoming Invitational at Lamade Gym. Junior
Kristine Jahn (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) earned All-Tournament honors after averaging 11.5 kills per match during the four-match event.

Elizabethtown finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record while York finished second at 3-1. Lycoming and Allegheny each went 2-2, Pitt-Bradford finished 1-3 and Penn College 0-4.

After getting swept in its first two matches of the invitational, the Warriors (5-3 overall) came out swinging on Saturday morning, registering an astounding 63 kills in the 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 25-16) win over Allegheny.

Junior
Kristine Jahn (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led the Warriors with 18 kills, hitting .342, while also adding two blocks in the match and she was balanced by junior
Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United), who posted 15 kills, eight digs and three blocks. Junior
Lauren Fink (York, Pa./West York) added her first double-double of the season, posting 10 kills and 16 digs and junior
Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) posted nine kills and two blocks. Freshman
Cheyenne Altland (East Berlin, Pa./DeLone Catholic) also added seven kills, four blocks and three digs in just two sets.

Sophomore
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 53 assists and 15 digs and freshman
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) notched a career-high 28 digs, while freshman
Kyra Beltrandi (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scooped up 11 digs.

Allegheny (5-4 overall) hit just .110 in the match as Lycoming scooped up 102 digs off 163 attacks. Taylor Samuel led the Gators with 13 kills, three aces, three blocks and 13 digs and Justine Kelly posted 26 assists and eight digs. Terra Schall scooped up 33 digs.

After a first-set loss to Pitt-Bradford (3-5 overall), the Warriors rebounded by hitting .352 in the ensuing three sets to take a convincing 3-1 (13-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-21) win.

Senior
Bethany Richardson (York, Pa./West York) led the way with 14 kills, hitting .500 in the match, and Fink added 10 kills and six digs. Burger flirted with a triple-double, notching 38 assists, eight kills and six digs and Altland added eight kills, hitting .636, to go with three blocks. Slawson also added seven kills and 12 digs. Hepner finished with 23 digs to lead the team.

The Panthers were led by 11 kills and seven digs from Alma Turpin and 20 assists, seven digs and two blocks from Christina Rauh. Both Kirsten Platz and Alexis Dhayer each added three blocks and Mandy Finch led the team with eight digs.

The Warriors will open their MAC Commonwealth season on Tuesday, Sept. 15, when it travels to Arcadia for a 7 p.m. match.
