Steve Campaniello (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) scored three times and added two assists and junior
Mike Cooper (Riva, Md./Archbishop Spalding) had two goals and three assists to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team to a season-ending 8-4 win over Alvernia University on Saturday afternoon, April 25, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

Senior
Joe Marchetti (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) started his 61
st career game, setting a school record, as he helped pace a defense that allowed just 23 shots, picked up 37 ground balls and forced 37 turnovers.

Cooper got Lycoming (3-12 overall, 3-5 Commonwealth) on the board in the first quarter, scoring off an assist from Campaniello with 2:44 and the Warriors never let go of the lead. Senior
Trevor Williams (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Catholic) a whirling, leaping goal scored off a give from Cooper early in the second quarter and after an Alvernia goal, Campaniello found Cooper to make it 3-1 at the break.

In the third quarter, the Warriors took control, as freshman
Garrett Huff (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and Campaniello scored within a minute of each other to make it 5-1. After an Alvernia goal, the Warriors answered quickly, with senior
Steve Troup (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) scoring on a pass from Cooper.

Alvernia (3-13 overall, 0-8 Commonwealth) scored the first goal in the fourth quarter, but Campaniello put the game away with the last two goals of his career before Alvernia tacked on a fourth goal that in the quarter to round out the scoring.

The Warriors were led by five ground balls each from Cooper and junior
Michael Wagner (Pasadena, Md./St. Mary's) and senior
Christian Jacobs (Gwynn Oak, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) paced the team with three caused turnovers. Senior
John Scarponi (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) had a great game at the 'x', winning 8-of-13 faceoffs, picking up three ground balls and causing two turnovers.

Both Thomas Warwick and Colin Rothweiler each added a goal and an assist to lead the Crusaders. Mark Grove picked up a game-high six ground balls and caused two turnovers.

In net, senior
Alex Wylly (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) stopped 10 shots in his final game, helping him finish his career second in school history with 582 career saves and third with 14 career wins. Alvernia's Mason Etier stopped 12 shots in the loss.
