FREDERICK, Md. – Freshman
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) scored a career-high five goals and two others added hat tricks as the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team used a 15-goal first-half to cruise to a 19-8 Commonwealth Conference win over Hood College on Wednesday afternoon, April 15, at the Thomas Athletic Field.

The Warriors (8-4 overall, 1-4 Commonwealth) fired 40 shots in the game and stayed in possession for much of the game, winning 20 of 28 draws and turning the ball over just eight times, as Hood (2-10 overall, 0-6 Commonwealth) fired just 24 shots in the contest.

The win clinches Lycoming's first .500 season since the 2010 team finished 10-8 overall, as the Warriors are 8-4 with four games remaining for third-year head coach

Hood opened the game with a goal off a free-position shot, but the Warriors got on the board with 25:22 left when junior
Meghenn Jackson (Arnold, Md./Broadneck/Anne Arundel C.C.) found the back of the net. Just 17 seconds later, senior
Casey Maguire (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) scored and the Warriors were off, finishing the half on a 15-3 run, including scoring the last seven goals of the half.

In the second half, the Warriors continued to roll, with freshman
Jenna Hudson (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) scored two of the first three goals to help the team take an 18-4 lead with 13:06 left. Hood finished the game on a 4-1 run to round out the scoring.

Lazarich led the team with five goals and an assist, as she also posted nine draw controls and three ground balls to lead the team.

Jackson finished with three goals and two assists, as she became the 10
th player in school history to score 50 goals in a season with her second goal of the game. Hudson also added three goals. Four players – Maguire, junior

Erin Cieniewicz (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and freshman
Colleen McCormick (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) – each added two goals.

Derian Le and Jade Locklear each led the Blazers with two goals and both Taylor McGaughey and Christina Murphy each notched a goal and an assist.

Sophomore
Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) (8-4) notched six saves in the first half for the Warriors before sophomore
Casey Martindale (Davidsonville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) made two stops in the second half. Hood keeper Lauren Couch stopped 14 shots.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 18, when it hosts Albright College in a Commonwealth Conference game at 1 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. Before the game, the team will honor its five seniors.
