WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –
A three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning helped the Lycoming College softball team walk off with a 5-4 win in the first game of Monday, April 13's doubleheader with Misericordia before Misericordia rebounded with an 8-0 six-inning win to take the second game on the non-conference doubleheader at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

A pinch-hit two-RBI single by junior Elisa Novak (Ambler, Pa./Germantown Academy) and a walk-off infield hit by senior Kalie Moeller (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) helped the Warriors (12-10 overall) come-from-behind for the 5-4 win in the first game.

The Warriors started the seventh inning rally when junior Kristi Weaver (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) led off with a single up the middle before senior Caroline Lapano (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) doubled into the gap, putting the tying run at second base. After a pitching change and a popup, Novak came on to pinch-hit and went opposite field over the second baseman's head to score the two runs.

Lycoming kept the rally going as junior Dominique Thomas (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) was hit by a low pitch. The runners moved up a base due to a wild pitch before sophomore Kelcie Crabb (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg) walked to load the bases for Moeller. Moeller delivered with a hard hit liner that the Misericordia shortstop dove to stop, but couldn't make a play on, allowing all the runners to move up a base.

The Warriors got on the board first, scoring in the bottom of the second. Thomas led off with a double in the gap, took third with a delayed one-out steal and scored on a perfect squeeze bunt with two outs by sophomore Morgan Kunes (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain).

The Cougars (17-9 overall) tied the game in the third inning thanks to a pair of errors and a single from Melanie Quintanilla. They added two more runs in the fifth inning, using three singles in the frame along with a walk and an error to score the runs.

The Warriors closed within a run in the sixth inning, as Thomas led off with a walk, stole second, took third on a single to center field by Crabb and scored on a one-out sac fly by junior Ashley Burger (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area).

Misericordia tacked on another run in the top of the seventh to make it 4-2, as Meg Hardy delivered the one-out RBI single.

Thomas led the Warriors, going 2-for-2 with two runs, a double, a walk and a hit batter. Weaver went 2-for-4 with a run, as Lycoming posted 10 hits in the game.

Melissa Parker led the Cougars, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and Hardy finished 2-for-4 with a run and RBI.
Shady (3-2) earned her third win in as many starts, tossing a complete game and allowing nine hits and two earned runs. She struck out two and walked two to earn the win. Alissa Steier went six-plus innings for the Cougars, allowing eight hits and four runs in the no-decision. Maddie Stebich (6-2) took the loss, allowing the winning run, two hits and one walk in 1/3 inning.

In the second game, Bailee Schies (1-0), tossing her first game of the year, allowed one hit and two walks in the complete game win.

Misericordia scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning, with Kristi Seiler hitting a grand slam and Hardy adding a solo homer to follow.

Misericordia got on the board in the first inning, using a double high off the right-center field fence by Hardy to score the run during a three-hit inning.

Senior Nikki Marianelli (Old Forge, Pa./Old Forge Area) had the lone hit for the Warriors, as she hit a single up the middle.

Hare finished 2-for-4 with two runs, Seiler finished 2-for-4 with a grand slam, and Hardy went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and two RBI to lead the Cougars.

Lapano (5-3) took the loss for the Warriors, allowing nine hits and five runs in 5 1/3 innings. She walked three and struck out one.

The Warriors get back on the field on Thursday, April 16, when they head to Penn College for a doubleheader at 3 p.m.
