SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Sophomore
Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) notched career highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team against rival Susquehanna University, but Susquehanna was able to pull away in the game's final six minutes for a 78-67 win at O.W. Houts Gymnasium on Sunday, Nov. 29.

The Warriors forced a pair of turnovers on the next two Susquehanna possessions, but Susquehanna was able to get the ball back each time, and Angie Schedler converted a traditional three-point play with 5:18 left. Susquehanna (4-1 overall) got another bucket from Lexi Biggs-Garcia before the Warriors drew back within two points at 67-65 with 2:46 left when Grove found senior
Olivia Manges (York, Pa./West York) a step inside the arc for a jumper to make it 67-65.
Susquehanna responded, though, as Angie Schedler hit her sixth 3-pointer of the game, starting a run of nine straight points during a concluding 11-2 run.
Grove finished with a career-high 13 points, four assists and three rebounds and Henderson added 11 points and two assists. Junior
Nicole Calella (Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) added eight points, four assists, crossing 200 in her career in the game, and two steals. Manges finished with seven points, six rebounds and two steals.
The Crusaders, who hit nine 3-pointers while limiting the Warriors to two, were led by Angie Schedler, who posted 33 points, hitting six 3-pointers, and three assists. Nicole Gault added 12 points, Lexi Biggs-Garcia added 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists and Nikki Komara added 10 points, eight assists, seven steals and five rebounds. Sofie Schedler posted five points, seven assists and three steals.
Susquehanna took control of the game thanks to a trio of 3-pointers in the final 3:30 of the first quarter that spurred a run of 13 straight points to end the quarter and give the Crusaders a 29-15 lead going into the second quarter. Lycoming controlled the next period, using a 19-5 run to tie the game at 34 after a pair of free throws from Henderson with 2:08 left. Susquehanna took the lead into the break, though, as Bigg-Garcia hit a jumper and Angie Schedler hit a 3-pointer in the final 35 seconds of the half.
Susquehanna hit seven 3-pointers in the first half, while Lycoming stayed in the game thanks to a 13-of-14 performance at the charity stripe, while limiting Susquehanna to just two free throw attempts.
In the third quarter, Susquehanna was able to expand the lead to 11 with 2:00 left before Susquehanna used three free throws to head into the final period down 58-50.
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Dec. 2, when they host Alvernia in their MAC Commonwealth opener at 6 p.m. at Lamade Gym. The men's teams will follow with an 8 p.m. tip-off.
