WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior
Bethany Richardson (York, Pa./West York) and junior
Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United) each posted eight kills and hit better than .400 to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-12) win over Albright College in MAC Commonwealth play on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The Warriors (17-9 overall, 3-5 MAC Commonwealth) hit a solid .342 (37-11-76) in the match and clinched the match by jumping out to an 18-3 lead in the third set off the strength of an eight-point service of Richardson before clinching the 25-12 win. Lycoming hit .579 (12-1-19) during the clinching set.

Richardson notched eight kills, hitting .583, and added four aces. Slawson hit .429 and added 10 digs. Sophomore
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 29 assists, five kills and three aces and freshman
Cheyenne Altland (East Berlin, Pa./Delone Catholic) posted five kills and two blocks. Junior
Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) also added five kills.

Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuykill Valley) scooped up seven digs.

Albright (5-15 overall, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) was led by eight kills from Kellie Hill and six kills and four digs from Maddy Greth. Becca Davis notched seven digs and Claudia Guise notched 21 assists.

The Warriors get back on the court on Friday, Oct. 23, when they head to No. 5 Christopher Newport for a 7 p.m. match.
