Warriors fall to Dutchmen

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Kristin Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) led the Lycoming College volleyball team with eight digs, but Lebanon Valley College used 10 blocks and 15 aces to post a 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-16) win in Commonwealth Conference action at Lamade Gym on Tuesday night, Sept. 30.
 
The Warriors (12-10 overall, 2-1 Commonwealth) were led by five kills each from sophomores Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United) and Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff), with Slawson adding six digs and Whitman posting three blocls. Sophomore Haley Deibert (Sacramento, Pa./Tri-Valley) posted six digs and freshman Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) notched 16 assists.
 
Greta Weidemoyer led the Dutchmen (15-3 overall) with eight kills and three blocks and Ali Quirk added five blocks. Emily Sides posted six kills and Nina Mentzer posted four blocks. Allie Garrett notched 11 digs and Kacey Musselman posted 22 assists and four aces.
 
The Warriors get back on the court with the MAC Crossovers on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Messiah College. The team will face DeSales at 10 a.m. and Misericordia at 12:30 p.m.
