HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Junior Nikki Kaye (Brick, N.J./Matawan) scored once in each half to help the Lycoming College women's soccer team to its second straight win, 2-1, against Juniata College on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Winton Hill Field.
 
In the first half, Kaye entered the game in the 39th minute and just three minutes later, she broke through. She added an insurance goal in the 71st minute, as she came into the game less than minute before. After the restart, she cleaned up a rebound after a shot by freshman Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park), as Kaye knocked in her third goal in the last two games.
 
Juniata, which had not lost to Lycoming since 2010, closed the gap to 2-1 in the 82nd minute, as Jessica Zavadak knocked in a rebound off a blocked shot, but in the final nine minutes, the Eagles managed just two shots, with Lycoming freshman goalkeeper Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) stopping the last of her seven shots on a shot by Cheyenne Brown.
 
Juniata (2-5 overall) fired 18 shots in the game, including 11 in the second half, but Winey was able to stop four shots in the first half and three in the second to lift the Warriors (2-6 overall) to the win.
 
Kerry Leonard stopped three shots for the Eagles.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they head to King's (Pa.) for a 7 p.m. game.
