Box Score ELMIRA, N.Y. – Seven Lycoming College women's lacrosse players scored in Saturday, March 8's game at Elmira College, but Elmira put together a late six-goal run to take an 11-9 non-conference win at Elmira Free Academy.
 
The Warriors (0-3 overall) were led by two goals and an assist from junior Casey Maguire (Egg Harbor, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) and two goals from sophomore Savannah Fox (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville) added two goals. Freshman Leanne Shaw (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added a goal and two assists, while junior Erin Cieniewicz (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) was outstanding in the midfield, grabbing seven draws, picking up seven ground balls and causing five turnovers. Freshman defender Elizabeth VanHorn (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) added three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
 
The Eagles (1-0 overall) took a 4-0 lead through the first 20 minutes of the first half, but Lycoming stormed back into the game with a  9-1 run over the next 25 minutes. The Warriors began the run when Shaw found Maguire with 9:54 left before junior Kari Rybak (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) found the back of the net 33 seconds later. The Warriors kept the pressure on, with Fox scoring twice in the last seven minutes, her last with two seconds left in the half to get Lycoming a 5-4 lead going into the break.
 
The Warriors kept rolling in the second half, as Maguire and senior Maureen Heagy (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) scored to start the half before an Elmira goal stopped a 7-0 run. The Warriors continued to pressure, with both senior Amber Graybill (Pasadena, Md./Pasadena) and sophomore Kelsey Harshman (Hamilton Square, N.J./Steinert) scoring to give Lycoming a 9-5 lead.
 
However, a pair of goals by Kelsey Quail started a six-goal run by Elmira that started the game, with Sam Risi scoring the go-ahead goal with Sam Risi with 8:33 left before Moorea Spoljaric added an insurance goal with 4:41 left.
 
Spoljaric led the Eagles with four goals while Jessica Blinkinsop added a goal and two assists. Bridget Keefe added two assists and Qual posted two goals. Rebecca Matturro posted a goal, an assists, seven ground balls and four caused turnovers.
 
In net, LeAnna Presler (1-0) stopped 10 shots to earn the win for the Eagles. She also scooped up six ground balls. Freshman Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) (0-3) stopped 11 shots in net for the Warriors.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, March 12, when they head to Marywood University for a 7 p.m. game.
