GRANTHAM, Pa. – A week after falling to Misericordia University in five sets, the Lycoming College volleyball team rebounded with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17) win over Misericordia to secure a split at the Middle Atlantic Conference Crossovers at Brubaker Auditorium at Messiah College on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Warriors fell in the opening match to DeSales, 3-1 (25-27, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21).

The Warriors (13-11 overall) were led by nine kills and four aces from sophomore
Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United), as they took down the Cougars (11-12 overall) in straight sets. Junior
Bethany Richardson (York, Pa./West York) added seven kills and 10 digs and sophomore
Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) notched six kills, eight digs and four blocks.

Kristine Jahn (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) posted six kills and freshman
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) notched 26 assists and six digs. Senior
Kristin Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) had a team-high 12 digs.

Slawson also led the Warriors against the Bulldogs (15-6 overall), as she notched 19 kills, 10 digs and two blocks for a double-double. Richardson also notched a double-double with 12 kills, 13 digs and four blocks and Jahn notched 10 kills and two blocks. Burger posted 47 assists and nine digs and Whitehead finished with 17 digs and three aces. Whitman also added five kills and 10 digs.

Logan Wieziolowski led the Bulldogs with 19 kills and five blocks and Chrissy Banos added 13 more kills, as DeSales slammed home 60 kills in the four-set match. Amanda Wallitsch added 26 digs and Lisa Wallitsch posted 50 assists and 16 digs.

The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Oct. 8, when they head to Messiah College for a Commonwealth Conference match at 7 p.m.
