Warriors fall to Knights

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman goalkeeper Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) stopped nine shots for the Lycoming College women's soccer team, but two first half goals from Lennon Kramer helped regionally-ranked Arcadia University post a 2-0 win in Commonwealth Conference action on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18.
 
The Knights (12-3 overall, 3-1 Commonwealth) broke through in the 23rd minute, as Lennon Kramer got in on a breakaway and she added another score in the 35th minute on another breakaway.
 
Ranked seventh in the latest Mid-Atlantic region poll, the Knights held a 23-3 advantage in shots in the game and also forced eight corner kicks. Lycoming fell to 3-13 overall and 0-5 in the Commonwealth Conference.
 
Winey stopped five shots in the first half and four in the second half, as she notched nine stops for the second straight contest. Veronica Willig stopped one shot to earn her sixth shutout of the year for the Knights.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they head to Hood for a 12:30 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game.
