Warriors out to knock off top-running Stevenson on Sunday

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With both teams coming to Lamade Gym riding two-game winning streaks, the Lycoming College men's basketball team and first-place Stevenson University will be in for another tough Commonwealth Conference battle on Sunday, Jan. 19.

The Warriors (7-6 overall, 3-4 Commonwealth) are coming off back-to-back double-digit road wins at Widener and Lebanon Valley, helping the team climb into a tie for sixth in the conference. A win against the Mustangs (11-3 overall, 6-1 Commonwealth) would further help cloud the playoff picture, as five teams are within one game of third place in the league with 11 games remaining.

The Mustangs, meanwhile, posted a 103-99 double-overtime upset of No. 15 Messiah on Jan. 15.

Warrior Notes
• Head coach Guy Rancourt became the fourth head coach in school history to win 90 games with the win over Lebanon Valley.

• With 1,063 points, senior Kevin Anthony needs eight to pass Ihsaan Davis (2009-13), who is 27th in school history with 1,070 points.

• Anthony's stretch of 13 straight double-figure scoring efforts is the longest for the Warriors since Jonathan Pribble did it in 13 straight games to begin the 2005-06 season.

• Senior Michael Rudy needs eight more rejections to tie Matt Stackhouse (2000-04) for first in school history with 142 career blocks.

• Junior Patrick Dougher needs 14 more points to reach 500 in his career.

• Sophomore Eric Ishman's 4-for-5 effort from three against Lebanon Valley raised his season percentage .117 to .450.

• The senior post trio of Anthony, Rudy and Justin Miller have combined to average 39.4 points per game and shoot 52.4 percent from the floor.
