WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman 
Alfonce Mutuku (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) scored a first-half equalizer for the Lycoming College men's soccer team, but two second-half goals by Susquehanna University helped it sneak away with a 3-1 win in the 13
th annual Battle of the Boot at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Tuesday evening, Sept. 3.
 
Down a goal after a 17
th minute score by the Crusaders (2-1 overall), Mutuku got the Warriors (0-2 overall) on the board for the first time in 2013, getting a pass from junior 
Adam Kuntz (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) from the outside and Mutuku sped past the Crusader defense and fired a shot into the left corner.
 
The Warriors played well in the first half, taking six shots, and holding Susquehanna, which entered the day ranked 16
th in the nation, to eight.  Susquehanna keeper Matt Salsman made three saves in the half, though, to keep the game tied.
 
In the second half, the Crusaders chipped in a goal in the 50
th minute, as Kyle Semmel found the center of the net and in the 69
th minute, Nick Fecci knocked a shot into the right corner to help Susquehanna retain the Boot.
 
Lycoming got some chances late, although, they were held to two shots in the half. The team's best chance came when senior 
Justin Walker (Stroudsburg, Pa./Moravian Academy) headed a ball destined for the top of the net, but Salsman made a leaping save.
 
Kyle Semmel posted two goals and Ryan Donlevie finished with two assists for Susquehanna.
 
In net, Salsman stopped four shots and junior 
Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) notched one save for the Warriors.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Sunday, Sept. 8, when they host Pitt-Bradford at 1 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
