Box Score

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Despite taking just six shots in the game, the Lycoming College men's soccer team made the most of the opportunity, scoring a first-half goal and holding on for a 1-0 win over Westminster College on Friday night, Sept. 13, at Harold Burry Stadium.

Junior Adam Kuntz (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) scored the game-winner on a restart in the 36th minute, with freshman Moises Lazo (Bowie, Md./Bowie) lifting the free kick from the far 10 and Kuntz connecting on a goal to the far post.

The win helped the Warriors improve to 3-2 overall and dropped the Titans, who finished 11-6-2 in 2012, to 3-3.

The Warriors were able to dictate the pace of play for much of the game, posting five corner kicks while limiting the Titans to just one. They also played disciplined, earning 23 free kicks while being whistled just 11 times.

Junior goalkeeper Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) recorded his first shutout of the season for the Warriors, stopping the lone Titan shot on goal. Westminster keeper Joe Bonish also had one save.

The Warriors get back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 17, when they host rival Juniata at 4:30 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
