WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a snowed out attempt for a game on Dec. 14, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will hit the floor for the first time in more than three weeks on Monday, Dec. 30, when they host the University of New England in the opening round of the Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament at Dutch Burch Court at Lamade Gym.
The Warriors (4-3 overall) fell in their last outing, 100-89, at Hood on Dec. 7. The team was led by 17 points from senior
Michael Rudy and 16 from senior
Kevin Anthony.
The Nor'easters (1-6 overall) snapped a season-opening six-game skid in their last outing, a 66-62 win over Western New England on Dec. 7. Sophomore Devin Thompson hit the go-ahead jumper with 3:19 left.
Game Notes
• The Warriors are third in Division III with a 48.1 3-point field-goal percentage, eighth with a 52.7 field-goal percentage and 10th with 5.9 blocked shots per game.
• Senior
Kevin Anthony needs 26 more points to become the 30th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points.
• Anthony has scored in double figures in all seven games this year. He started the 2012-13 season by scoring at least 10 points in the first eight games.
• Junior
Pat Dougher became the 13th player in school history to hit 100 3-pointers in a career with her first of three against Hood.
• Senior
Michael Rudy needs 15 more points to reach 600 in his career.
• Sophomore
William Wingate needs 23 more points to reach 300 in his career.
• The Warriors have won the first three Basinger Tournaments.
Jerald Williams '13 won the first three tournament MVP awards.
