WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's soccer team fired a season-high 19 shots and forced Hood College to make nine stops, but couldn't find the back of the net, as the Warriors finished the 2013 season with a 0-0 draw in Commonwealth Conference action at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The Warriors (1-16-1 overall, 0-8-1 Commonwealth) had their best chance to score in the second half, as freshman
Olivia Mendler (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) lofted shot from the left side that was just tipped wide of the left side of the net by the Hood keeper.
Lycoming dominated the two overtime periods, forcing Hood (3-14-1 overall, 0-8-1 Commonwealth) to make three saves on four shots while Hood forced Lycoming to make just one stop on three shots.
Senior
Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) led the Warriors with four saves to earn her first shutout of the season and finish the season with 136 saves, the seventh-most in program history.
Leah Norris stopped nine shots for the Blazers, as junior
Emily Truett (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) led the Warriors with four shots.
