CARLISLE, Pa. – Sophomore
Amber Seibel (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) posted 19 kills to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team on the second day of the Dickinson Invitational, helping the team split a pair of matches, falling to Mich.-Dearborn, 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-17), before storming back to beat Penn State Altoona, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-15) on Saturday, Sept. 8.
Against Mich.-Dearborn (5-2 overall), Seibel led the Warriors with nine kills and 13 digs while junior
Katelyn McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) notched 20 assists, three aces and seven digs. Freshman
Bethany Richardson (York, Pa./West York Area) added five kills and eight digs and senior
Jackie Oliva (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) notched six kills and three digs.
Against Penn State Altoona (2-8 overall), the Warriors (5-2 overall) blasted a blistering 38 kills and added 11 service aces and six blocks en route to the sweep. Seibel posted 10 kills and 15 digs while Richardson added seven kills and 14 digs. Oliva notched eight kills and a block and sophomore
Kylee Sutton (Wysox, Pa./Towanda Area) notched five kills and five blocks. Sophomore
Kristin Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) added 18 digs and McKillop posted 28 assists and 15 digs.
The Warriors get back on the court when they head to Elizabethtown on Tuesday, Sept. 11, for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
