WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team posted a strong defensive effort on Saturday morning, Sept. 15, as the Lycoming keepers combined to make 10 saves in a 0-0 draw with a tough SUNY Geneseo program at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The Warriors’ best chance to score came in the second half when junior Spencer Larson (Edgewater, Md./South River) headed a ball, forcing the Geneseo keeper to make a great stop.

Meanwhile, Geneseo (0-5-1 overall) fired 23 shots at Lycoming’s goalkeeping duo of sophomore Sam Stropko (Sayre, Pa./Athens) and senior Jennifer Basch (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), but neither allowed a goal, extending the Warriors’ scoreless minutes streak to 233:36, the longest under second-year head coach Matt Dunn.

Stropko finished with seven saves in the first 65:07 for the Warriors (1-4-1 overall) before Basch stopped five shots in the last 44:53. The team also made one defensive save.

Julia Sanger finished the game with two saves for the Blue Knights as Lycoming took three shots.

The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday when they head to No. 21 Misericordia for a 7 p.m. match.
