Warriors wrap up time in Myrtle Beach with 9-7 win over Rochester

Box Score MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Junior Brooke Strausser (Myerstown, Pa./Conrad Weiser) posted six goals for the second straight game as the Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team picked up its second straight win with a 9-7 triumph over the University of Rochester at the Grand Park Complex to wrap up Lycoming’s time at the Snowbird Lacrosse event.
 
Strausser led the way for the Warriors (2-2 overall), while freshmen Casey Maguire (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) and Erin Cieniewicz (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and sophomore Maureen Heagy (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) each added a goal.
 
Senior Kristina Maurer (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Marian Catholic) was outstanding in net for the Warriors, making 11 stops.
 
Lauren Basil led the Yellowjackets (1-2 overall) with three goals and both Niki Holmes and Liza Maizel posted a goal and an assist.
 
The Warriors head home for the Shangraw Athletic Complex, facing Westfield State on Sunday, March 18 at 12 p.m. as they look for their third straight win.
