WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Seniors Stephen Hinton (Montclair, Va./Forest Park) and Russ Korbul (Asbury, N.J./North Hunterdon) capped off their careers at Lamade Gym in impressive style, with each posting pins, one to start the meet, and the other to clinch it, as the Lycoming College wrestling team posted a 26-17 win over Gettysburg College on Wednesday night, Feb. 15.
 
Hinton, who improved to 15-2 on the season, started the meet in style, as he won his 30^th career dual meet with a pin in 1:24 over Abe Spano at 125 pounds, his first career win over the Gettysburg senior that entered the match with 26 wins this season.
 
Korbul clinched the meet the same way, posting his 23^rd win of the season with a second-period pin over Marshall Puls at 197 pounds, giving the Warriors (7-8 overall) a 26-14 lead, clinching the school’s 28^th straight win over the Bullets (7-15 overall).
 
After a loss at 133 pounds, freshman Caleb Willey (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) posted five first-period points en route to an 8-3 win over Andrew Petroulias. At 149 pounds, freshman Lucas Wisniewski (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) posted a major decision thanks to three third-period takedowns to notch an 11-3 win over Tony Stanell. Freshman Brian Watkins (Bear Gap, Pa./Southern Columbia) added a 7-3 win over Joe Fiore, giving the Warriors a 16-4 lead.
 
A pin and a major decision for the Bullets helped Gettysburg close within two points, but junior Tyler Cunningham (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township), posting a second-period reversal and three-point near fall, took control of the 184-pound match en route to a 12-3 major decision against Anthony Iorio, setting up Korbul’s clinching win.
 
The Warriors will now get set for the postseason, as they head to the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Championships on Saturday, Feb. 25. The meet will begin at 9 a.m.
