Warriors fall to Wisconsin Lutheran in opener of Posade Royale Fall Classic

Box Score THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Lycoming College volleyball team opened its four-match run at the Posada Royale Fall Classic at California Lutheran University with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-26, 25-11) loss to Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday evening, Oct. 14. In the nightcap, the Warriors fell to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 3-1 (25-8, 19-25, 25-13, 25-14).
 
The Warriors (11-12 overall) face Redlands (10:30 a.m. PT) and California Lutheran (1 p.m. PT) on Saturday, Oct. 15.
 
Against Wisconsin Lutheran (15-9 overall), sophomore Katelyn  McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) posted 20 assists and eight digs and sophomore Shelby Gear (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) added 10 kills. Freshman Kristen Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) added nine digs and sophomore Kassidy Sedore (Stormville, N.Y./Spackenkill) added eight.
 
Statistics are not yet available from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (12-8 overall) match.

Before the matches, the Warriors took a tour of Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. Studios, where Lycoming alum Tom Woodruff works. Woodruff’s son, David, gave the team the tour of the studio. Woodruff, a Williamsport native, has worked in several movies, including “AVP (Alien vs. Predator)”, “Scary Movie 3”, “Looney Tunes – Back in Action”, “Evolution”, “Bedazzled”, “The Hollow Man”, “Jumanji” and several more.
