WESTMINSTER, Md. – In its 2010 season opener, the Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team dropped a 15-3 decision to McDaniel College on Saturday, Feb. 27. Three different Lady Warriors scored in the game.
The Green Terror (1-0) opened the game with an 11-0 run before senior midfielder
Jackie Calbi found the back of the net on an assist from
Sammi Jo Bell. Fellow senior
Justine Titko scored with 10:52 left in the game.
For the final goal of the contest, sophomore
Grace Gargiulo scored with 6:39 remaining in the game on a pass from
Brianna Robertson.
In the draw circle, Bell picked up three of Lycoming’s four controls. On defense,
Alex DeWitt and
Ashley Steel each grabbed two groundballs.
The Warriors (0-1) had two goalies see time.
Brittany Bryan started the game, making three saves while
Libby Stoesz made on save in the second half.
The Lady Warriors are heading to Dallas, Texas for their next two games. Lycoming plays Colorado College at 11 a.m. on Monday, March. 1 and York College of Pennsylvania at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March. 3.
