CHESTER, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team fell to No. 24 Widener University in Commonwealth Conference women’s soccer action on Saturday, despite a stellar 11-save effort from freshman goalkeeper Caitlin Dougherty (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone).

The Warriors (7-4 overall, 0-2 Commonwealth) took seven shots in the game, but couldn’t break through as Vanessa Hejnas and Valerie Perretti combined for the shutout for the Pride (10-1-1 overall, 1-0-1 Commonwealth), who tied a school-record by extending their unbeaten streak to 10 matches.

Brittany Harvis assisted on both second-half tallies, with Caryinna Yenchak posting the first by finishing off a cross inside the six in the 54th minute and Devan Doyle sealed the game in the 79th minute with a shot from the 18-yard box.

The Warriors will continue their rough road through the Commonwealth, as they head to No. 1 Messiah for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday.
