Lady Warriors suffer 2-0 loss to Moravian

Box Score DALLAS, Pa. --- Despite junior forward Kari Shaner taking four shots, the Lycoming College Lady Warriors were unable to find the goal and fell to Moravian College 2-0 in the final game of the Misericorda University Kickoff Classic on Saturday, Sept. 5.

The loss drops Lycoming’s record to 0-2-1 on the season while Moravian improves to 1-2.

Both teams battled throughout the game, with the score knotted at zero until 78:45 when Moravian found the net. The Greyhounds scored again at 79:50.

Senior goal keeper Brie Pepe (Lafayette, N.J./High Point Regional) started the game, but suffered an injury shortly before halftime. Sophomore backup Chelsea Powers (Dover, Pa./Dover Area) stepped in to finish the game and made one save.

Kari Shaner (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) was the leading shooter for the Warriors with four shots, placing one on goal. Kaitlin Horn (Ringtown, Pa./North Schuylkill) took two shots on the day.

The Lady Warriors return to the field on Wednesday, Sept. 9 when they travel to Lancaster, Pa. to face the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College. The game is set to begin at 3 p.m.
