Box Score 2 GLENSIDE, Pa. --- Sophomore libero Emily Abel came up with 43 digs in Lycoming Colleges 3-2 loss to Baptist Bible College and an additional 17 against Susquehanna University for a 60 dig tri match on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Lady Warriors fell to Susquehanna 3-0.
Lycoming is now 4-7 on the year while Susquehanna improves to 4-8 and Baptist Bible also improves to 4-8.
The Lady Warriors fell to the Chargers of Baptist Bible in a fevourious five-game match, 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 18-20. In the match, Abel (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) came up with 43 of Lycoming’s 104 digs. Senior defensive specialist Alyssa Taylor (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) was responsible for 17 digs. Offensively, Lycoming tallied 56 kills. Junior outside hitter Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban) knocked down 15 of her 47 attempts and Beth Machella (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) scored another 15 kills. Senior setter Abby Myers (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) earned 29 assists.
In the second match of the day, Abel came up with 17 of Lycoming’s 47 digs. The Lady Warriors offensive attack was led by junior outside hitter McKenna Warren (Elmira, N.Y./CMS Elmira), who scored seven kills on 17 attempts. Taylor and freshman Veronica Clair (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) each scored two service aces. Rose, Clair, Warren and junior middle hitter Megan Schulze (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) each scored assisted blocks.
The Warriors return to their conference schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 22 when they host the Lions of Albright College at 7 p.m. in the Lamade Gymnasium.
