Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Junior Victoria Michael put the Warriors on the board seven minutes into the match but Lycoming College could not hold off the Pacers of Marywood University and fell 2-1 on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Lycoming is now 2-4-1 overall on the season while Marywood improves to 2-2.
Michael (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) scored her goal after sophomore Kelly Prendergast (Edison, N.J, Rutgers/Preparatory) took a throw in, earning her the assist. The game went scoreless until the 32 minute when the Pacers knotted the score at one apiece.
Both teams would battle for the entire second half, with neither team finding the goal, forcing an overtime scenario. Marywood broke the tie 29 seconds in the extra stanza to earn the 2-1 victory.
Lycoming out-shot Marywood 16-8 but could not place many shots on the goal, forcing the Pacer goalkeeper to make five saves. Marywood controlled the corners with a 5-2 advantage.
The Lady Warriors return to action on Monday, Sept. 21 when they travel to cross-town rival Penn College. The game time is set for 6 p.m.
