Women's lacrosse overpowers Widener 23-11

Christi KarrCHESTER, Pa. --- Justine Titko played with offensive prowess against Widener University on Saturday, April 18. In the Middle Atlantic Conference tilt, Ttiko scored five goals to help lead the Lady Warriors 23-11 over the Pride.

The win gets Lycoming back an even record at 7-7 and 5-3 in the MAC while Widener slips to 6-8 and 2-6 in the league.

The Pride jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring their first goal 20 seconds into the game, with the second coming 35 seconds later. But the offense juggernaut of Lycoming stuck 15 straight goals. Christi Karr scored the first two Lady Warrior goals and was followed by a goal from each of Megan McIntyre, Sammi Jo Bell and Bri Robertson. Titko continued the streak, as did McIntyre, Karr and Bell for their next set of goals. Karr and Titko found the goal to send Lycoming in to halftime with an 11-2 advantage.

Brittany BryanOpening the second half, Bell, Titko and Amanda Baker all scored before Widener was able to find the goal for its third tally. Back-to-back goals by Bell and Robertson got Lycoming up 16-3. The Pride were able to put together a four goal run before Lycoming got tallies from McIntyre and Morgan Reale. Another two Widener goals came, followed by two goals from Baker and another two from Titko. McIntyre sealed the game with the final tally.

The Lady Warriors will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 19 as they take on Alvernia at 1 p.m.
