Robertson, McIntyre net three each in 23-12 victory over Misericordia

Grace GargiuloDALLAS, Pa. --- Bri Robertson and Megan McIntyre both scored four goals en route to a 23-12 Lycoming College victory over conference opponent Misericordia University on Wednesday, March 25. Justine Titko was the assists leader with three.

The victory boosts Lycoming to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Misericordia is now 2-5 and 1-2 in the conference.

Lycoming nabbed the first goals of the game from the sticks of McIntyre and Jackie Calbi to gain an early 2-0 lead. Four straight Cougar goals gave Misericordia a 4-2 advantage. But a 9-3 run by the Warriors sent the teams into halftime with Lycoming up 11-7. Justine Titko nailed two goals in the streak while McIntyre put away three. Robertson, Sammi Jo Bell and Amanda Baker all tallied one to round out the half.

The Warrior’s offense came back in the second just as potent, scoring another quick three goals, this time with two from Kelli Morsey and one from Amanda Baker. Bri RobertsonLyz Logan gave Lycoming a 15-8 advantage when she found the net before Morsey sparked another multi-goal run. Robertson had three in the series, while Lycoming picked up goals from Kristi Karr twice and another from Titko.

The tough Lycoming defense was back at it again, this time with Danielle Gargiulo causing five turnovers and picking up five groundballs. In the cage, Brittany Bryan made seven saves while Libby Stoesz made one. On the draw circle, Grace Gargiulo had five controls.

On March 28, the Lady Warriors will be back in action at home as they face off against non-conference opponent St. John Fisher, with the first draw set to go at 1 p.m. at the Robert L. Shangraw Athletic Complex.
