Going 3-0 with two shutouts to help the Warriors keep hold of first place in the MAC Freedom during a 5-1 week was more than enough to help junior Kylie Russell earn her first career Warrior of the Week award. The Cogan Station, Pa., native tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts in a 7-0 win over FDU-Florham to start the week, followed that with a two-hitter in 8-0 six-inning win over Albright, striking out seven and finished the week with a 4-1 three-hitter against MAC Freedom preseason favorite Arcadia, allowing an unearned run and striking out nine. Batters hit .123 off her and she struck out 25 in 20 innings as she extended her run of innings pitched without allowing an earned run to 26.1.
Russell is fourth in the MAC Freedom with a 1.24 ERA, third with a .216 opponents batting average, eighth with 45.1 innings pitched, sixth with 41 strikeouts and tied for fourth with five wins,Â
