Extending his hitting streak to seven games while hitting .467 during the week has helped Lycoming baseball team catcher and outfielder Greg Wirin earn his first career Warrior of the Week award. Wirin was a key part of the Warriors' 9-5 win over DeSales, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, capping a sixth-run fifth inning with a two-RBI single into center field to ensure Lycoming's first home win in 52 years. Wirin started the week with a triple and a run at Gettysburg before going 3-for-4 with a run, a double and a RBI in game one of the series with DeSales. He followed that by going 3-for-8 with a run and two RBI in Saturday's doubleheader.
Wirin is second in the MAC Freedom with a .467 average. He is 10th with a 1.100 OPS and 11th with a .600 slugging percentage.
