Thanks to winning theĀ  174-pound title at the MAC Championship, his third career MAC title in as many opportunities, senior Hadyn Swartwood has repeated as Warrior of the Week.Ā With the 2019 version of the championship canceled due to snow, Swartwood extended his carer record at the event to 11-0 after winning 157-pound titles in 2017 and 2018, becoming the first Warrior to claim three MAC Championship titles since heavyweight Tommy Snyder in 2004-06.Ā  On Saturday, Swartwood posted a fall in 1:23 over Messiah's Tyler Riley in the first round, won via tech fall (15-0) over Stevens' Nico Ziccardi before posting a 10-4 win over Chase Smith of Alvernia in the semifinal bout. In the final, he notched a 2-1 win over 2019 NCAA qualifier Brian Shermeyer of Messiah. The Jersey Shore, Pa., native accounted for 18.5 team points and allowed just two offensive points in the tournament (one takedown and three escapes). The four wins ran his career record to 99-30, as he has won 10 matches in a row to improve to 26-3 this year.
