A year after an injury kept her off the softball field, junior Kayla Kline returned to the diamond with a memorable trip to North Myrtle Beach, helping her earn her fourth Warrior of the Week award of the season and the ninth of her career. Kline hit .621 (18-of-29) with four doubles, two triples, a homer, 12 RBI and seven runs during a 7-1 run in South Carolina. She had two hits in seven of the eight games, including starting the year with a 4-for-4, three-run, two-RBI effort in a win over Morrisville State. She went 2-for-4 with three RBI in a win over SUNY Poly and followed that by going 2-for-4 with three RBI, all coming off a three-run homer in a 3-1 win over Fitchburg State. She finished the trip with a 2-for-3 effort with two doubles and a RBI in a 2-0 win over Albertus Magnus. Kline has now put together a 15-game hitting streak, when combined with the seven-game streak she had to finish 2017, marking the fourth-longest in program history. In the field, she also had just one miscue in 30 opportunities as the team's shortstop.
