Stepping off the bench to provide 19 points over the course of two important MAC Commonwealth wins has helped freshman Kelly Vuz earn her first career Warrior of the Week award. Vuz, a key part of a Lycoming defense that held its opponents to less than 25 percent shooting during the week, scored nine points, hitting all six of her free throws, in a 58-32 win at Alvernia on Wednesday. She followed that with 10 points and an assist, hitting five free throws and a 3-pointer, in a 57-46 win over Stevenson on Saturday. Vuz hit a key old-fashioned 3-point play right before halftime to stop a run of 11 straight Stevenson points and give Lycoming the lead at the break and added three free throws late in the third quarter to give the Warriors the lead for good. Vuz is averaging 4.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game, shooting 41 percent from the field.
