A career-high 19 points in a solid team win has helped freshman Alex Newbold win his first career Warrior of the Week award. Newbold shot 57 percent from the field and added two steals and two rebounds as the Warriors notched an 86-71 win in the crosstown rivalry. The guard scored 10 points in the first half and added nine more in the second. Newbold leads the Warriors with a .527 field goal percentage and 21 steals. His 10.3 points per game are third on the squad.
