A MAC record in the 100-yard butterfly and two school records has helped junior Daniel Woods clinch his third career Warrior of the Week award and his second of the year. Woods, who had the fourth-best qualifying time, turned it on in the finals of the 100-Fly, as he made the second turn in third place but distanced himself from Hood's Alex Bodine and Albright's Alex Bauer in the final 50 yards, posting a meet-best 26.98 split on the second lap to secure the MAC record time of 50.73. He also smashed his own 100-fly record of 52.07 set at the Swarthmore Invite in December and fell just 0.5 seconds from a NCAA 'B' qualifying time. Two races later, Woods got back in the pool and finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.84, smashing the school record of 1:00.81 set by sophomore teammate Trevor Endler. He was just edged out for his second MAC title by Hood's B.J. Daisey, who finished in 58.72. He also finished seventh in the 200-yard individual medley. Woods also helped the 200- and 400-yard Medley Relay squads to school records, swimming the butterfly with the 200 squad and the backstroke in the 400 as both teams placed fifth to earn Second Team All-MAC honors. He also helped the 400-yard freestyle relay to a fifth-place finish, as he led off the relay with a team-best 47.27 split.
