WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Men’s basketball junior forward Will Kelly has been named Lycoming College’s Warrior of the Week for March 1.

Kelly helped Lycoming advance to Commonwealth Conference championship game, putting up 48 points in the tournament, including 30 against Elizabethtown College in the semifinals. During the week, he averaged 24.0 points a game, while leading the Warriors in rebounds with 13. From the field, he hit 55.5 percent (15-27) of his shots, including six-of-12 from beyond the arc.

The Warriors defeated Elizabethtown 90-81 on Wednesday, Feb. 24 to advance to the Commonwealth finals, where they finished as the league’s runner-up after dropping an 87-74 decision to Albright College on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Lycoming was awarded an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament where it will play Wilmington (Ohio) College on Friday, March 5 at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va. Tip-off time is set for 5:30 p.m.

Lycoming’s sports information office will announce a Warrior of the Week throughout the 2009-10 academic year. The athletes will be featured on the homepage of the athletics Web site at athletics.lycoming.edu.
