WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Lycoming College men’s basketball junior forward Will Kelly has been named Warrior of the Week for Jan. 4.
Kelly (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Twp.) led the Warriors to victory in their final game of 2009, defeating Shenandoah University 78-67 on Wednesday, Dec. 30. He recorded a double-double in the win, scoring a game-high 17 points while also grabbing 12 rebounds, 11 of which came on defense.
Kelly’s shooting was key to the Warriors' victory. He was six-for-six at the line, which included four in the final minute of the game. He also shot 50 percent from beyond the arc, going three-for-six. He added three assists and two blocks.
Lycoming's next game will be at New Jersey City University on Monday, Jan. 4. The contest is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Lycoming’s sports information office will announce a Warrior of the Week through the 2009-10 academic year. The athletes will be featured on the homepage of the athletics Web site at athletics.lycoming.edu.
